Cambodia is located in South-East Asia, on the Indochina Peninsula. It is an excellent location for agriculture. However, the land is also inundated with flooding throughout the year from monsoons. Landslides and property destruction lead to water becoming easily contaminated, and water-borne diseases becoming rampant. The only clean and safe drinking water is located deep underground and wells must be dug to access this water.

Muslim Aid USA, through its Dig a Well program has been playing a critical role in improving access to safe and clean water for those in need. As of 2019, the program has been able to support over 5,000 of the most vulnerable and marginalized families to receive Water wells in Kampong Chhnang province.
