With approximately 37.5 million people, more than half of whom live below the poverty line, Afghanistan ranks amongst the most malnourished regions internationally. More than 12.5 million individuals have been deemed severely food insecure. While progress has been made in reducing national rates of malnourishment, the prevalence of such nutrition-related health issues remains high at the national level.
