Current estimates suggest that nearly 13% of the total world population is malnourished.
The vast majority of these individuals reside in the developing world, where perpetual food shortages and lack of access to adequate nutrition are both pervasive and profound in impact.

With approximately 37.5 million people, more than half of whom live below the poverty line, Afghanistan ranks amongst the most malnourished regions internationally. More than 12.5 million individuals have been deemed severely food insecure.
