In honor of Black History Month, Muslim Aid USA is raising funds to help provide interest-free loans to Black American students seeking a college education.
When those granted an interest-free loan are able to pay it off, the funds will go towards Black American communities in need all around the country. This will further benefit generations to come for many, many years.

Statistics show that individuals with a bachelor’s degree earn 62% more than those with just a high school diploma. Unfortunately, only 9% of students from low-income households earn a bachelor’s degree by their mid twenties. In contrast, 77% of high-income students receive their bachelor’s by their early twenties.
Amongst individuals who are 25 years or older, 32.8% of caucasian students hold a bachelor’s degree while only 22.5% of black students hold a bachelor’s degree. This discrepancy represents a 10% difference in degree attainment.
February is Black History Month. To raise awareness and make a positive impact, Muslim Aid USA is raising funds to help provide interest-free loans to black students who are trying to pursue their education.Â

This month, MAUSA is prioritizing efforts to serve a community that has been historically underrepresented in the educational system.
Even when black students have access to advanced placement (AP) or honors courses, they are underrepresented in those courses. black [and Latino] students represent 38% of students in schools that offer AP courses, but only 29% of students are enrolled in at least one AP course.
