Our faith teaches us to look after each other. It’s our responsibility to have each other’s best interest.

It has been narrated that Abdullah bin Amr (ra) said, ‘A man asked the Prophet, “What Islamic traits are the best?” The Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) responded, ”Feed the people, and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not know”’.

There is food and hunger insecurity all over the world, including in the U.S. In 2020, studies showed that over 38 million Americans (11.8 percent) lived in households that struggled against food insecurity, or lack of access to an affordable, nutritious diet. This represents a 9 percent increase from 2019.

The lack of nourishing and nutritious food has a detrimental impact on a person’s success and wellbeing, but we can work towards preventing that.

To help combat this, Muslim Aid USA is working towards launching a “Hunger Truck” initiative. This food truck will be based in Washington D.C and will require $85,000 to bring to fruition. Each meal will cost $6, and our aim is to feed 1,000 people every month.
