Muslim Aid USA Announces Leadership Transition: Anwar Khan Appointed Interim CEO

 

Washington, D.C. — [November 3 2025] — Muslim Aid USA announced the appointment of Anwar Khan as Interim Chief Executive Officer as the organization enters its next phase of growth and development. The Board of Directors has initiated an extensive search for a permanent CEO to continue advancing Muslim Aid USA’s mission of serving communities in need around the world.

“We are pleased to welcome Anwar Khan as Interim CEO of Muslim Aid USA,” said Hud Williams, Board Chair and President of Muslim Aid USA. “Anwar brings decades of leadership experience, strategic vision, and deep commitment to humanitarian service. We are confident his guidance will strengthen the organization’s mission and expand its global impact.”

Anwar Khan is a globally recognized humanitarian leader with more than three decades of experience in international relief, development, and nonprofit leadership. He is the Co-Founder of Islamic Relief USA and currently serves as CEO of AK Spark Consulting. Throughout his distinguished career, Anwar has helped raise over $1.3 billion in humanitarian aid, mobilized tens of thousands of volunteers, and built sustainable programs that have improved lives across the United States and globally.

Anwar has served on several national and international boards, including The World Food Program USA, and The Alliance to End Hunger. He has also advised the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. State Department on global development and faith-based partnerships. Anwar is currently Associate Faculty at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
