Uganda, Clean Water
Water is the key to life, but 1 in 3 people in the world still do not have access to clean drinking water.
Did you know that in Uganda, 28 million people lack access to clean, safe water?
In rural Uganda, conditions are even worse — women and children walk more than three hours a day just to collect water.
These women and children could be using this time to study, read, write, or even earn an income to help take care of their families.
Ugandans living in poverty currently pay as much as 22 percent of their income to access water from water vendors. This reduces overall household income, limiting the ability of families to break the vicious cycle of poverty.
Water affects everything: education, wealth, poverty, and of course, women and children. Could you donate today to help us change lives?
