As of August 27th, 2024, the catastrophic flash flooding in Bangladesh has impacted more than 5.5 million people across the country. At least 23 lives have been tragically lost, and 11 districts have been severely affected, with critical infrastructure like power lines, roads, and communication systems destroyed.
While the river waters in low-lying areas are starting to recede after days of deadly floods, over 300,000 people are still in emergency shelters and urgently need our help.
On top of that, landslides have added to the devastation, displacing families and causing even more injuries.
Our team at MAUSA is on the ground, working hard to provide clean water, emergency food packages, and hygiene kits to those in need.
