According to the UN the number of people affected by hunger globally rose to as many as 828 million in 2021, an increase of about 46 million since 2020 and 150 million since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, Afghanistan is the world’s hungriest country with more than 90% of the population pushed into poverty. Hunger is rising and the need for humanitarian support is increasing while access restrictions remain extreme. There are nearly 70 million people between Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan & Ethiopia suffering extreme hunger.  MAUSA is on the ground working with local partners to deliver emergency food packages to those in need.
