More than 28 million Ugandans lack access to safe water In rural Uganda, conditions are even worse — women and children walk more than three hours a day  just to collect water.”

Ugandans living in poverty pay as much as 22 percent of their income to access water from vendors. This reduces overall household income, limiting the ability of families to break the vicious cycle of poverty.

Unfortunately, the health care crisis is even worse. The Ugandan public health system is poorly funded and underequipped, in part as a result of this trend towards privatization.

A large proportion of those accessing health services in the country have to pay for their healthcare services. Major challenges are due To underfunding, understaffing, lack of accommodation, lack of healthcare equipment and inconsistent drug distribution.
